Here we post the most recent activities and results, ordered in chronological order from newest to oldest.
EO-MAJI, like other ESA EO Africa projects, participated in the EO for Africa Symposium 2024, held in Frascati from Setember 23 to 26, 2024:
Afer a long silence due to administrative issues, EO-MAJI is back to business, now lead by University of Leicester.
ET estimates, using ECOSTRESS LST and TSEB model, were validated at sites from the ICOS Warm Winter 2020 database.
First tests using crop model simulations showed promising results in predicting wheat yield based on the actual vs. potential evapotranspiration deficit and peak biomass.
An online meeting organized by ESA was held between all EO Africa Explorers projects.
A joint online meeting with all African Early Adopters and the South African EO experts was organized by DHI, in order to better survey their project needs and expectations, and the data they would have available for prototype evaluation.
An overview of the project was presented during the 2nd Workshop on International Cooperation in Spaceborne Imaging Spectroscopy, that was held in Frascati from 19 to 21 October 2021.
We have gathered eddy covariance data for the validation of the ET product from the ICOS and European Fluxes Database Cluster. In addition, in synergy with the ET4FAO project lead by DHI, we have also access to some limited Eddy Covariance data in Africa.
